Makeup Product Review - OCC Lip Tars

I recently purchased OCC Lip Tar in Feathered (white), Demure (pink) and NSFW (red) and I am currently loving them. The colours are extremely pigmented and a little goes a long way. They are extremely longwearing and waterproof. What's more the colours are designed to be  be mixed so you can create your own colours or tone or shade your current colours! I'm a big fan of this product and I am definately looking to add more of these colours into my kit.
The only negative I have found is that they are highly pigmented so they can stain the skin, so lips need to be prepped correctly prior to applying the lip tars. Applying vasaline or lip balm prior and removing before application of the lip tars should resolve the staining problem.

OCC LIP TARS
A stunning new innovation in lip color, OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in color, Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment - a little goes a very, very long way! An intense yet featherweight layer of color that stands up to the scrutiny of Hi-Def Video and Digital Photography, without ever looking (or feeling!) heavy. Meant to be mixed, Lip Tar comes in concise array of colors for a limitless selection of shades made by you!

OCC Lip Tar is 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free, and is also free of parabens and other harsh preservatives. A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, OCC Lip Tar feels as good on the lips as it looks!

Makeup Inspiration

Below are pictures/photos that I have used as my inspiration on my facemaps:

1.This picture below was taken by my favourite photographer - Damo Nguyen

2. I found this random picture on the internet. I liked the strong and vibrant colours of the sunset and wanted to emulate this in my makeup.

3. This is another picture I found on the internet. I wanted to create something femine, soft and pretty.

4. The 2 photographed models below are work from one of my favourite and talented makeup artists Jordan Liberty. http://www.jordanliberty.com/

My Best Friend's Wedding

Below are photos of my best friend Eleanor who entrusted me to do her makeup on her big day! Thankfully I practiced putting on false lashes the night before! (not that it helped much on the day). After doing the makeup for Eleanor's wedding is what eventually got me interested in makeup and wanting to pursue it further.

Poker Face

In April 2010, I completed my Makeup Certificate II.
As part of our assessment we had to chose a theme in our theory and practical exam.
Lady Gaga was my choice of inspiration as she enjoys the challenge of taking risks and pushing the boundaries. She is not afraid of colour and approaches vivid hues without fear. She embraces everything from flurescent pink on the eyes to deep purple on the lips. Shes not afraid of being different and standing out and embraces diversity.

The Beginnings......The Trials and Tribulations of Makeup Testing

Below is the first makeup trial for my makeup course. I had a few ideas regarding the theme to pick for my final assessment but they don't always work out as well as planned in your head. Thats why its always good to have tests.

My first idea was to do a black & white striped eye and seal the eyebrows and draw them in an upward angle

Idea 2 was to try bold colours on the opposite eye. Blues & yellows.
After seeing the 2 next to eachother the striped eye won as it was bolder and made more of a statement. The sealed eyebrows weren't as successful as I had hoped so I decided not to incorporate them into the look.

Below is the completed look with striped eyes.
